- Membership

The Swanage Railway relies on our members and volunteers in helping us achieve our aims. However, we recognise that individuals circumstances differ and so we have created three membership tiers to enable those who wish to support the project to select a level that meets their circumstances.

All membership tiers currently include the following benefits:

  • Discounted or free train rides (number and price varies by membership - see information below and the notes)
  • Regular editions of the Swanage Railway Magazine
  • 10% discount on most items in the Swanage station shop

All members over 18 years of age can vote at the Railway’s Annual General Meeting and stand for election to its Council of Management and help shape the Railway’s future (see notes).

As well as supporting the railway financially, all members are welcome to become actively involved as a volunteer. Up-to-date information is available on the Volunteer pages of this web site.

Gift Aid Donation facilities are now available on membership payments as well as donations to the Railway.

Alternatively write enclosing details of your requirements and appropriate payment details to the contact address in the panel. Annual Membership

Travel Benefits: 25% travel discount on all scheduled
Swanage Railway Company trains (Norden-Swanage-Norden),

Cost:             Adult – £18.00.
                     Senior, 60 years, junior - £12.00
                     Family (two adults and their children) - £36.00

Membership is payable by a one-off payment made every year, or by Standing Order.

Premier Life Membership

Travel Benefits: Free travel for life on scheduled Swanage Railway Company Trains (Norden-Swanage-Norden)

Cost:             Those under 60 years - £500.00.
                     Those over 60 years - £300.00.

Membership is payable as a lump sum or £10.00 per month for
50 or 30 months as appropriate.

Notes

The following notes apply to all tiers of Swanage Railway Trust membership:
  • 'Scheduled Services' are all normal passenger services appearing in the timetable and excludes special event services such as Thomas the Tank Engine® and Santa Specials. It also excludes other services where advance booking is required such as the Wessex Belle.
  • Only those who are over 18 and have been members for more than three months are eligible to stand for election to the Council of Management.
