The Swanage Railway Trust is committed to
providing as much information as possible to Trust members,
supporters and local residents alike. A wide variety of channels
are used to disseminate this information according to interests.
The chapters below provide some details of these channels. |
|
Annual General Meeting
|
|
|
The Annual General Meeting is the formal
decision making body of the Trust and of the Company. Most SRT
Members are entitled to attend and vote at the Trust AGM.
The results of the Council of Management election are also
announced at the AGM and those elected are responsible for the
day to day decision making between AGMs. |
|
Mince Meetings
|
|
|
A long established tradition of the Project,
Mince Meetings can be called by members. These meetings provide
an opportunity to discuss concerns with the Board and Council of
Management. There are typically a couple of Mince Meetings
each year and these are conducted in a less formal atmosphere
than the AGM but minutes are still taken. Proposals can be presented
for a vote. |
|
Council of Management 'Open Forum'
|
| |
The Council of Management usually meets in the last Saturday of
the month at the Rectory Classroom, Swanage. The first fifteen
minutes of these meetings is offered as an 'Open Forum' where
any SRT member is invited to briefly outline any concerns or
present suggestions for consideration. Members wishing to be
heard may simply turn up at 6pm. |
| |
Swanage Railway Magazine
|
|
|
The SRM is normally published four times a year
and circulated to all SRT members. It traditionally provides a
mixture of news on views relating to the Project.
The
editor of the SRM, welcomes contributions
and letters from members and visitors alike. |
|
Web Sites
|
|
|
In addition to this Web site, the Project
provides a further site targeted at our visitors. The
Swanage Railway
Web site provides a variety of information ranging from time
tables to local accommodation, dining services to special
events. |
|
Discussion Forum
|
|
|
The discussion
forum is provided to enable members (and staff) to discuss
Swanage Railway Project issues of interest or concern. It is open to all members of the SRT.
The discussion forum requires a registration
form to be completed and this requires your current SRT Membership Number.
Contributors are required to post using their real names.
