| | The Council of Management is the Trust's Board and is concerned more with strategy and fundraising with operational matters devolved to the trading subsidiary, the Swanage Railway Company. These notes provide an overview of some of the matters discussed this month. - The Railway was honoured to have had a brief visit from HRH the Duke of Gloucester.
- The CoM agreed with a request from Dave Ensor that proceeds from Bric-a-Brac sales should be put towards improving facilities for the disabled.
- The Railway has received a range of artefacts from the family of the late Alex Dudley and expresed its thanks.
- The 2006 Grand Draw had so far raised a total exceeding £11,500. Please continue to support this major fundraising effort by either buying tickets or selling them to friends and family.
- The Swanage Railway branded MBNA credit card scheme has now raised over £17,000 towards railway funds and approximately £1,400 so far in 2006.
- The Trust Assets Group had been asked to advise the SRC on the future of some of the 95 wagons on the SR given the pressing need to free up space to enable movements to be accepted off the mainline.
- Bulleid 4365 has now returned to the Railway and restoration of the interior was being planned. It was expected that this would take around nine months.
- The Trust is exploring the possibilities of overhauling Bulleid Corridor Composite 5761
- The Trust Assets Group would review the future of Mk1 SK 25424 which the SRC had indicated was surplus to any likely requirement.
- A £40,000 appeal towards the cost of returning and restoring the 'Churchill' Bogie Luggage Van had been launched.
- The Trust has also been offered a Pullman Observation Car currently located in the US.
