| | The Council of Management is the Trust's Board and is concerned more with strategy and fundraising with operational matters devolved to the trading subsidiary, the Swanage Railway Company. These notes provide an overview of some of the matters discussed this month. - Bill Trite and Steve Doughty were elected as Chairman and Deputy Chairman for a further year.
- Some changes were agreed to Trust policies. The policy page on this Website will be updated shortly.
- The position of SRT funds has improved slightly. Company funds are higher than expected as a result of autumn passenger numbers running ahead of expectations.
- Total receipts from the Trust Draw were now in excess of £14,500 before deduction of prizes. The draw will take place at 2:30pm on Sunday 27th November.
- Options for extending Gift Aid in line with changes in the rules from April 2006 are being examined.
- The composition of the SRC Board was reviewed and the current members confirmed.
- A review of the AGM concluded that it was important that the formal business of the AGM was dealt with before taking questions relating to the period following the year covered by the AGM. The possibility of a Chairman's Report covering the later period would be considered.
- The CoM approved a proposal to co-opt Andy Vincent for 2005/6 in view of his role in leading the ongoing restoration of Bulleid 4365, the Draw and other fundraising initiatives plus his responsibility for imminent SRC and SRT Internet initiatives.
- A new volunteer recruitment leaflet was being finalised and would be available for the Open Day.
- Target publication dates for the SRM in 2006 were agreed as mid March, July and November
