- Swanage Pump - General Manager's Newsletter - New Year 2007

Thank You

As we reach the end of the year could I offer my thanks for all the hard work that has gone into making 2006 such a successful year. Please accept my best wishes for the New Year and I hope that 2007 will bring the Railway similar successes.

Shutdown work

This year the main projects are:

  1. Replacement of bridge timber s on Bridge 17.

  2. Piston and valve exams on 80078 and 80104.

  3. 6 monthly exams on A and B sets and fitting out of 35464.

  4. Work on floor of Crane runner wagon.

  5. Overhaul of Harmans Cross Signal Box – including overhaul/relocking of the frame and replacement of the timber beam that supports it.

  6. Track work at Swanage – including replacement of sleepers and clearing of drains.

  7. Preparatory work to the cutting at Harmans Cross.

  8. Maintenance work at stations.

  9. Installation of revised watering facilities for carriages – including new facilities at Corfe Castle.

Corfe Castle - Carriage Water Supply

Health & Safety

Assistant(s) –required to assist the Company Safety Officer in monitoring and promoting compliance with relevant H&S and other legislation. Contact Nick Brown or Malcolm Munro.

Traffic

Ticket Inspectors and Booking Clerks – are required to help man Swanage and other Booking Offices on a daily basis. Contact Martin Trott.

Station Master – Harmans Cross –required organise and supervise platform and commercial staff working at Harmans Cross. Contact Martin Trott.

Loco, Carriage & Wagon

Fitter – required to undertake carriage and diesel traction running maintenance. Contact James Cox or Nick Brown.
