Welcome to The Swanage Railway Trust

The Swanage Railway Trust is a registered charity responsible for preserving the heritage of the railways of the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset and re-establishing a rail link between the town of Swanage and the national rail network at Wareham. We are heavily dependent on volunteers and donations to fund our work. Vintage steam trains, operated by our trading subsidiary, run on most days of the year between Swanage, the historic village of Corfe Castle and a park and ride station at Norden six miles away.
The Swanage Water Tower Project is being delivered through the Chalk & Cheese Local Action Group, with Defra as the Managing Authority. A grant has also been awarded to Purbeck Mineral and Mining Museum Group.
